A new chapter in residential living for UMKC continues. In preparation for the Oak Street West project, official demolition of the former Twin Oaks complex began on Friday, January 19, 2007 and will continue through the first quarter of 2007.

The Oak Street West project will contain 514 beds of student housing in 165 units, in addition to a variety of community spaces including a social lounge, study rooms, and activity rooms. Also included in the planning is 5,000 square feet dedicated to retail and commercial space. Another feature is the 390-car parking deck.

The project is scheduled to open by the fall semester 2008.
